About Me
NAME: Denise
WHERE: Southwestern Ontario, Canada
WHO: Husband, 2 Girls, 2 Cats
EDUCATION: Child & Youth Worker Diploma, University Courses-Psychology, Sociology, Social Work
Currently: Autism & Behavioural Science
EMPLOYMENT: Self-Employed Support Worker, Child Care Provider, Public Relations Co-Ordinator
HISTORY: I chose to stay home when we had our first children. It worked best, with my husband working mid-nights at the time, for saving the expense of child care. As our oldest grew I started to work outside the home a bit only to find it inconvenient. By age 3 we started noticing developmental issues with our oldest that later didn't get a full diagnoses until age 7. When our oldest was 6 we had our second daughter. Staying home became more of a priority to accommodate our family needs.
Staying home doesn't come without it's own financial struggles. When our youngest was 1 I found out about this program helping families who have children with Special Needs so that the families could get much needed relief. I snagged that opportunity and have been privileged enough to work around my family schedule and needs. I love what I do by the way.......8 yrs and counting.
Though we have a modest income coming in with my husband working full-time and myself being self-employed things are still so very tight that much needed home renovations and repairs don't get done. Yes our home is in needed of TLC. Yes we work very hard but just don't seem to be getting very far.
This site is a reflection of my journey into creating a simpler, organized and more frugal lifestyle. Welcome to Liven Life Frugal
